Blake Leopold was a merit scholar and majored in Opera Performance at Indiana University, the nation’s leading University for Vocal and Operatic studies. As an undergraduate student, Mr. Leopold was frequently cast in leading roles in Grand Opera as well as more light-hearted operetta. While at Indiana, he used his directorial gifts, to develop a program whereby large theatrical productions could be brought to a small stage.
Mr. Leopold is a consummate actor and singer and has received critical acclaim for his many stage appearances throughout the country. He has appeared in recital and as a guest soloist with the Chicago Symphony, the Indianapolis Symphony, and the St. Louis Symphony. An accomplished concert artist, Mr. Leopold has toured the United States, bringing audiences to their feet wherever he performed.
Mr. Leopold has been teaching voice for over 40 years and, under his guidance, his students have excelled in the areas of musical theatre, opera, lieder, and jazz.
Specializing in vocal pedagogy and the diagnoses and correction of vocal faults, many of Mr. Leopold’s students have seen dramatic improvement in a short period of time. Consequently, his students have gone on to establish careers as singers, teachers and recording artists.
Mr. Leopold is a member of the National Association of Teachers of Singing, the Schubert Society, and the National Foundation for Advancement in the Arts. He is listed in Who’s Who among American Teachers and is ranked among the top 100 private voice teachers in America by Classical Singer magazine.
